Meet Ron – he’s your typical guy who spends his weekends battling groundhogs under his deck and cruising around in his rusty old pickup. But don’t let that fool you – this man knows his stuff when it comes to faith-based fundraising.
Ron’s worn quite a few hats over the years – pastor, college VP, foundation director, and board member for pretty much everything from colleges to camps. These days, he’s the go-to guy for teaching folks how to raise money for good causes, popping up at conferences and writing articles that tell it like it is.
He’s got a couple books under his belt too. “Ask for a Fish” is his main playbook – it breaks down seven steps to help ministry folks “find out where God is hiding money!” (his words, not mine!). Then there’s “Simply Share” and “Keep on Asking,” which talk about living and giving with purpose. The latter’s got 52 weekly devotionals about fundraising – one for every week’ of the year.
When it comes to clients, Ron’s helped just about every kind of Christian organization you can think of – from universities and rescue missions to international groups and local churches. Need help with planning? Annual fundraising? Getting your board up to speed? Major donor meetings? Ron’s your guy. He’s got this knack for making the whole fundraising thing feel less scary and more like a natural part of ministry.
I particularly love how he mixes down-to-earth charm (like his ongoing feud with those pesky groundhogs) with serious fundraising know-how. It’s like getting advice from your savvy neighbor who just happens to be a fundraising wizard.
