John Edwards joined The Timothy Group in 2014, bringing extensive experience in ministry development and strategic organizational leadership. His professional focus centers on supporting faith-based organizations through strategic planning, program analysis, and leadership development initiatives designed to enhance ministry effectiveness and growth.

Prior to joining The Timothy Group, John served as Executive Pastor, where he contributed to significant congregational growth, helping increase weekend attendance to over 2,600 worshippers. He also brings 16 years of experience as Divisional Community Relations and Development Director with The Salvation Army, where he specialized in disaster communication and public relations. His work included managing communications during major national events, including the Oklahoma City bombing and the Pentagon response during September 11th.

John holds a degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and regularly presents at national conferences on ministry development topics. He and his wife Marie serve as Elders at Grace Covenant Church in Cornelius, North Carolina, and are parents to eight children. A Charlotte native, John continues to apply his expertise in program evaluation, board development, and strategic planning to help ministry leaders achieve their organizational objectives.
