His ministry background includes 18 years in pastoral leadership followed by 19 years in global missions work. This extensive foundation in Christian ministry provides him with unique insights into faith-based organizational culture and development needs.
Dr. Thompson possesses comprehensive expertise in fundraising and development work, including building and managing major gift officer teams, mid-level donor programs, church relations, and foundation engagement. His technical skills encompass donor file analysis and wealth analytics applications designed to enhance ministry revenue growth. His approach combines analytical rigor with pastoral sensitivity and biblical principles.
Dr. Thompson holds a Doctor of Ministry degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and currently serves as Senior Vice President of Stewardship and Advancement at Global Disciples in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. His consulting methodology integrates best practices in fundraising with prayer, spiritual discernment, and biblical stewardship principles, offering organizations both technical expertise and pastoral guidance in their development efforts.
