With over a decade of proven fundraising experience and expertise in data-driven strategies, Jonathan serves nonprofit organizations by helping them enhance their community impact. He specializes in assisting ministries with implementing strategic, data-based approaches and tools that improve fundraising effectiveness and organizational performance. Jonathan has authored articles and presented to local and national organizations, including the Association of Fundraising Professionals (West Michigan), Do More Good, Nonprofit Hub, and the Lakeshore Nonprofit Alliance.
Prior to joining The Timothy Group, Jonathan owned and operated a fundraising consulting firm, served as Advancement Director for All Belong Center for Inclusive Education, and worked as Development Director for Jubilee Centers International. He holds professional credentials as a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) and maintains an Executive Certificate in Religious Fundraising (ECRF) from Indiana University’s Lilly School of Philanthropy. Jonathan earned his bachelor’s degree in business and finance from Grand Valley State University.
Jonathan resides in Grand Rapids with his wife and two children, where they are active members of Grace Christian Reformed Church. Outside of his professional work, he enjoys restoring his 1930s Tudor-style home and traveling with his family to national parks throughout Michigan and the Great Lakes region.
